I spent less than a week in Japan this past August, with most of my time dedicated to exploring Tokyo. However I gave myself one day to experience Japan’s natural landscapes. So I chose to visit Nikko—a small town about two hours by train outside the city. There, I stumbled upon a breathtaking lake, where sunlight filtered through the clouds, illuminating the mountains in the distance. The already stunning scene was made perfect by a lone fisherman, peacefully sitting in his boat on the water.
